Bouquets On Mondays: Lavender & Amethyst

As a little girl I loved for everything to be purple. Purple stir up leggings, lavender velvet t shirts (tragic but accurate), and I even had a purple teddy bear! I suppose you could say that I never lost my interest in purple but I try to take on a more adult approach. For this simple floral arrangement I plucked some fresh lavender from my Dad's garden and placed the stems in this vintage George Washington vase. The herbal smell of fresh lavender is only enhanced by a scented candle of the same fragrance placed in a chunk of raw amethyst. I guess instead of a purple teddy bear I have an assortment of purple amethyst stones to enjoy these days!

Nico

I'll be your Valentino...

I'll be your Valentino...

I'll be your Valentino... by nsaich featuring white home decor

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I find myself thinking of what helps me feel love. Conversations with friends and family, delicious meals, and pink sunsets would top my list. While I would adore receiving any of the luxurious items listed above (hello rockstud flats!), I know that Valentine's day is about the people and places that nourish me and not about the things that I love.

Yours,
Nico

Bouquets on Mondays: Tiffany & Co

I've always been in favor of reusing things that may have otherwise been discarded. A left over bag from Tiffany's is too pretty to end up in the trash, so instead I created a tote filled with pure white roses! These are some of my absolute favorite flowers for perhaps a very unusual reason. I heard once that in the past, people would hang a white rose stem above the entrance and exit to a party or gathering. This white rose was viewed as a symbol of silence and having an arrangment or stem displayed at a social gathering ensured that whatever conversations were had while attending a festive event, were never to be repeated outside the walls of the venue. I hope that by proudly displaying this centerpiece, my guests will always know that they are with trust worthy company.

Tip: Cutting the stems of flowers and plants at an angle helps
them absorb more water and increases their longevity.

Nico
