Ice Cream Cups:

I bet you're wondering why I titled this post "Ice Cream Cups" when I've clearly displayed a photo of a small flower arrangement. The secret I haven't shared with you is that the flower pot actually contains an edible dessert of thin mint ice cream and a topping of oreo cookie crumbs! I love how the simple addition of raffia and flowers take this classic childhood dessert to a whole new level. Think of all the possibilities with this idea! During December it might be fun to use poinsettias for a holiday flair. I'm already imaging placing fake fingers and candy bugs in these for Halloween! Perfect for your next garden party or bridal shower, here's how:

Magic Ingredients:
- Ice cream (I used thin mint, because it's not only a universal favorite but also looks like actual dirt)
-Oreo cookies

Supplies:
-Individual containers
-Straws
-Wire cutters
-Scissors
-Fake flowers (or fresh! Whatever you have on hand!)
-Raffia (optional )

Let's get started!
1: Using the raffia, tie bows around each individual serving container for a playful touch.

2: Using an ice cream scoop, place one scoop into each container. Let the ice cream sit at room temperature (or pop into the microwave) prior to this step to easily fill all corners of the containers.

3: Break the Oreos into crumbs using a food processor. If you don't have a food processor, simply place the cookies in a plastic bag and beat with a rolling pin.

4: Cut the straws with scissors so that they are as tall as the serving containers.

5: Place a straw in the center of the serving container, layer in the cookie crumbs, and put the flowers into the straw.

I added speckled eggs for an extra festive touch:

Repeat with all the "flower pots."

Viola! A spring time dessert that's
perfect for your next garden party!

Yours,
Nico
