Glazed Orange Muffins:

Maybe it's the suddenly bright weather, perhaps it's the fact that colder temperatures are approaching, but I could not stop craving orange muffins! That is, until I made a zesty batch and satisfied my tummy's wishes. I followed this recipe and made only a few slight changes. I used heavy cream instead of milk (for a more dense and luscious muffin), added a capful of pure orange extract (for additional flavor), and a bit of yellow and red food coloring (because we eat with our eyes and color is key!). Plus I just thought you guys deserved some "food porn!"

I try to add a little heart
into all of my baking, lol:

The batter for this recipe is a bit of a departure for me because it utilizes sour cream, something I typically reserve for savory dishes. The results however were worth the experimentation because these muffins are really creamy and basically melt as you are devouring them! Sunny orange zest, fresh squeezed orange juice, and pure orange extract create a bright burst of citrus flavor can't be beat either!

Yours,
Nico
