I spotted this plaid cape (poncho?) at Nordstrom during their fall preview event sale with my good friend Sharon. At first I was IN LOVE with the flattering cut of this garment but then it sat in my closet unloved and unworn for months! That is until today! I finally figured out how to style it properly. So  ladies, if you are wondering how to properly execute styling this season's cape trend, here are a few pointers:


1: Wear skinny jeans! This will balance out the volume of your upper half. However, if you are against skinny jeans a nice boot cut will work as well!


2: Get height with heels. I always find that a classic round toe pump brings instant timeless class to any of-the-moment trend.


3: Carry a top handle bag! Can you imagine how difficult wearing a cross body bag with this cape would be? Keep a bulky hand bag away from your body's silhouette by toting a clutch or top handle bag instead.

    The cape looks amazing on you Nico! And these are some great styling tips and I agree with the top handle bag suggestion too! My mom definitely did help me with the DIY, actually she was the one that told me about the hot heat tape. My prediction for spring tones are blush and pastels... We'll see :D
