Celebration Spoons!

To celebrate me being able to chew solid food again (and to let my boyfriend know how much I appreciated all of his support post dental work) we took a quick trip to San Francisco for dinner and good times with friends. Our friends Carlos and Katie hosted us that evening and I wanted to bring them something to show our appreciation. I whipped up a dozen "celebration spoons" to suit the occasion. Colorful spoonfuls of chocolate decked out in whimsical sprinkles, what could be better? Well there is one thing that makes these sweet treats even more enticing... I made them with leftovers! The spoons were left over supplies from previous parties (Halloween and 4th of July), the chocolate chips were still hanging around from my marathon baking extravaganza for Christmas, and the sprinkles and candy were just odds and ends from other cooking projects. Took me mere minutes to make these but something tells me these celebration spoons will be savored for quite awhile!

Magic Ingredients:
-Chocolate chips
-Sprinkles

Let's get started!
1: Place chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and melt in 20 second intervals. Stir in between each interval until the chocolate is completely melted.

2: Using the tools pictured below, place dollops of chocolate into each spoon.

3: Add sprinkles!

4: Repeat step four on all spoonfuls of chocolate.

5: Place all of your celebration spoons onto a plate and chill in the fridge until the chocolate has hardened.

Now all you have left to do is serve
and devour these savory spoonfuls!

These celebration spoons are also great for livening
up a simple cup of coffee or fragrant hot tea.

Yours,
Nico
